Email marketing can be highly effective or highly ineffective depending on how you execute the campaigns. Therefore, let’s talk about 6 tips on how you can execute excellently!
6 Tips for Email Marketing Success:
1- Deliver value with every email! Make sure they know who you are.
2- Image to text ratio – visually, aim for a nice hero banner that is mobile responsive, eye catching and get’s your message across quickly (within 2.5 seconds). Then support with text below that (for people that have emails that do not render images). Overall, simple, clean designs with clear call to actions and “wow” lines which link to more content on your website work best. Word count – in the body of an email, try to keep total word count between 50 and 125 words total. Provide links + buttons to site or blog for subscribers to continue reading.
3- Subject lines – let your subscribers know what’s in it for them – what they stand to learn or gain from opening email. The shorter, the better. Since most people open emails on their phones, try to keep it under 30 characters, 50 characters at most.
4- Best day to send is Tuesday. If you send more than one email/week, send the second on Thursday. Next best choice is Wednesday.
5- Depending on your audience, the best time to send is around: 6am (especially if your audience is primarily high-level professionals), 10am (if your audience is not particularly specific), or between 8pm – 10pm, especially if your audience tends to read emails at night. These can be sent as early as 30 minutes before the corresponding peak time, but the key is that an email is sent corresponding with your primary audience’s timezone (often Eastern time).
6- Analyze the data and make changes as you go.
